Samsung S7 and S7 Edge Review : Edge of Perfection
Samsung has launched its two flagship devices Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge in India at Rs. 48,900 and Rs. 56,900 respectively with great specifications like bigger battery, microSD storage, IP68 water and dust resistance. They were unveiled few weeks ago at the Mobile World Congress event. Both the devices are available for pre-booking till March 17 midnight along with Samsung Gear VR headset as a freebie.
Both the devices have similar design as their predecessors but with improvements like curvy glass back. Samsung Galaxy S7 comes with a 5.1-inch QHD 2K display whereas Galaxy S7 Edge flaunts phablet-sized 5.5-inch QHD Super AMOLED screen display with curved edges on both the sides (right and left) surrounded by narrow bezels. The two phones are powered by an Exynos 8890 Soc chipset paired with 4GB RAM, have 32GB internal storage which can be expanded upto 200GB using a microSD card. Both smartphones run on the latest version of Andriod Marshmallow v6.0 with TouchWiz UI layered on top and come with a fingerprint sensor located on the home button. As claimed by the company, the device is equipped with a “thermal spreader” water-cooling technology to prevent the phone from overheating.
In terms of camera, Samsung has introduced a 12MP Dual-Pixel camera and 5MP front-facing camera with a f/1.7 aperture lens and Auto HDR support ensuring great picture quality even in low light conditions. Dual-Pixel technology is claimed to let in 56% more light as compared to its predecessor. S7 Edge supports larger 3600mAH battery and S7 comes with 3000mAh battery.

The new flagship devices feature sensors like Fingerprint, accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity, compass, barometer, heart rate and SpO2.
